Bummer! Fortunately, as long as you have access to the mail at the address where the Google My Business is located,
To request ownership of an already verified Google business listing,
- Go To business.google.com/create and fill in your Business Name and Address
- After choosing the right business from the search results, press Continue
If another person has already verified your business, you’ll see a message indicating that someone else owns this business - Now comes the main step! Tap Request access and fill out the form
- Click Submit. When you’ve finished the way toward requesting the ownership, the current listing proprietor will have 7 days to respond.
…and now we wait…
After 7 days, there are 3 possible outcomes:
1. Your request gets approved, and you’re back in business!
2. It gets denied.
3. You hear nothing, and need to give Google a little while longer. If you don’t hear back within 12 days, submit the request again.
If the claim is denied, you can file an appeal.
Fortunately, we deal with Google A LOT. If you’re running into more problems than you care to deal, with, just reach out to us, and for what is usually a couple of hours billable labor we can take care of the issue and let you get on with what you do best.
