Great question! Glad you asked!
1. Don’t post fake reviews…we know it’s tempting. Personally, we don’t see anything wrong with a few (we’re talking 2-3 max) reviews from friends and family members to get your GMB started. Just make sure you don’t post any more than 1 a week, and scatter them in-between “normal” customer reviews.
2. Get into the habit of checking your information is up-to-date. Google has gotten into the habit of changing items like your hours of operation, based on “user submitted data”. So, even though your hours might be 9am-5pm, if someone calls you, and they don’t get through, they could mark the business as closed. That data then gets sent to Google, and they can make a call on whether to mark you as closed on Mondays.
3. Make sure you don’t change your business address or main business category too frequently. Google shuts down businesses for these changes
4. If your business listed on Google is a UPS/USPS/Post Office Box/PMB. Change it immediately. It might be up for the time being, but Google WLL shut it down (we’re seeing it weekly).
